A while back my parents took me and my two sisters to New Canaan, Connecticut to visit the grounds on which Philip Johnson, an influential american architect, built the glass house and many of his other architectural wonders. We were given a tour of the property and told about Philip Johnson and his life. While on the grounds I shot a few pictures using my fisheye lens, to help get more elements of the architecture and design into the photographs. On the grounds there are multiple buildings spread out which Philip Johnson designed and used. The glass house is one of his most famous buildings, which has entirely glass walls with the exception of the bathroom in the middle.
I love the modern and sleek style he had, as well as how in-touch with nature he was. The glass house allows you to blend into the nature and become a part of it almost. I loved walking around his immense property and looking at all the buildings he so skillfully placed and crafted. Everything from the decor of the inside of the houses to the groundskeeping was kept to his exact specifications and how he wanted it. As well as being an artist himself he appreciated others art and the beauty in the world. He collected much art and built himself an immense personalized building to store all of his collection.
